The Mx4000VME is a 4-axis, DSP-based
motion controller. The Mx4 is powered by a multi-DSP parallel processing
architecture.
The Mx4000VME
is a slave; it decodes 16 address lines and responds to data transfers
at both even and odd address locations. The card also supports seven interrupt
lines. The VME Mx4 card can be programmed to respond to short I/O address
bus cycles, as determined by the address modifier bits AM5:0.
Its programming support includes a C-like programming
language (DSPL) which utilizes the Mx4's DSP processing power, enabling
the controller to perform computer, PLC, and motion controller functions
in factory automation applications.
